As-is: Mainly offline social gathering group. Mostly people who live in Seoul participate in SeoulShare. It is run by volunteers.
VISION (TO-BE) The largest online and offline international community that covers everything about Korea, not only for people who live in Korea, but also for travelers visiting Korea as well as anyone who are interested in Korea and Korean culture like K-pop and K-dramas. SeoulShare will provide them with offline event experiences, chances to interact with locals, and travel services such as guesthouses. SeoulShare Online will provide travel information, and travelers can ask questions and share information about Korea. And information, ideas, opinions and all kinds of content about Korea will be shared SeoulShare online. SeoulShare will become an online and offline integrated community about Korea.
🏨 Vision One. SeoulShare Space SeoulShare hosts not only outdoor events such as running and picnics, but also indoor events such as board games and Christmas parties. But since SeoulShare doesn't have its open space, it is difficult to find a place every time it hosts an indoor event. An indoor space that SeoulShare can freely use is essential for SeoulShare to realize its mission. If the SeoulShare space can accommodate not only various indoor gatherings, but also has cafes, restaurants, or pubs, then even on days when there are no official events, SeoulShare members can simply come to the SeoulShare Space, and meet and interact with other members. Travelers from all over the world are participating in SeoulShare events. What if SeoulShare had a hostel-like space for these people to stay? It would be great for travelers to stay in the SeoulShare hotels and also joins the SeoulShare events all together. Let's imagine Seoul Share Building. On the first floor, there are cafes and restaurants where SeoulShare members can come and interact freely at any time. The 2nd floor has an event space that can host indoor events such as board games or Christmas parties. The 3rd floor is an office space for SeoulShare event organizers and management team. Floors above the 4th floor are Seoul Share Hostels. What other spaces could come into the SeoulShare Building?
🌐 Vision Two. SeoulShare Network The members of SeoulShare come from various nationalities and backgrounds. Of course, they also work in various fields, including IT, investment, marketing, education, and more. Couldn't SeoulShare grow into a Professional Network that connects people who work or are interested in these fields? Let's say we regularly host events such as UX Designers' Night or Marketer's Day, inviting experts in the field to share their experiences and insights. At these events, we also help members find jobs by matching recruiters and job seekers. Through this, we hope that SeoulShare will grow from being just a social gathering to a Professional Network and Professional Platform where international members share their career expertises and job opportunities.
📲 Vision Three. SeoulShare App Currently, meetup platform and a KakaoTalk group chat is where events information is shared and where members talk and interact with each other. SeoulShare App(SSA) will be the main space for this. Not only event notices but also some features like managing membership will be integrated into SSA. For example, if you join SeoulShare as a member through the SSA, you'll get your own QR code on the app. If member Amy attends a walking event, the event host can scan the Amy's QR code to confirm her attendance with the SeoulShare Manager App(SSMA). SeoulShare membership will be divided like Beginner, Junior and Senior and it will be determined by some factors like how many times a member attend events. Membership comes with benefits. For example, A SeoulShare Junior member will enjoy 10% discount in restaurants, hotels or stores that are partnered with SeoulShare. Data such as what events members joined, what restaurants they went will be gathered, and it can be analyzed and used in many ways. For example, by analyzing travel and consumption patterns of travelers visiting Korea, SeoulShare can host new events or provide travel services according to the analysis.
📶Vision Four. SeoulShare Online Community Currently, the main space of SeoulShare is offline, but members are actively interacting online as well. More than 350 members are interacting in the KakaoTalk group chat room. Information about Korea can be searched on Google. However, when you need some information right away, it is difficult to get an answer promptly. For example, a French traveler who arrived in Korea a few days ago suddenly has a stomachache. If she asks members in the SeoulShare group chat about it, some SeoulShare members could share the information or even take a photo of a certain medicine for her. As such, the online community of SeoulShare is also very important. However, KakaoTalk is not suitable as an online community platform because it is a closed chat room and has only simple functions such as sending messages. SeoulShare wants to become an impactful and influential community where people from all over the world who are interested in Korea are actively participating and sharing information, ideas, opinions and thoughts about Korea online as well as offline. There are no barriers of distance and time online. I hope SeoulShare can grow into an online community where anyone from any parts of the world can communicate and share everything about Korea including travel, life, society, culture, history and so on.
🎭Vision Five. SeoulShare Contents I'm running a YouTube channel, Iggy lee. I am making vlog videos that share my daily life, so naturally SeoulShare events are included in my videos. Meeting and interacting with people from all over the world at the SeoulShare events itself is meaningful and interesting content. In addition, we can produce videos that can inform Korean life, culture, history, etc. as well as videos about how foreigners think about Korea and Korean people. I hope SeoulShare will be able to create and share colorful stories and useful information that are constantly being created through SeoulShare community.
♻️**Vision Six. Sustainable Community.**SeoulShare events are hosted by event organizers, and run by the management team including myself. We're all volunteers, but it doesn't seem like a sustainable model for the long term. We need to create a structure where the fair reward is given to event organizers and management staff, so they will be able to work in the long term, and more members will be able to join as event organizers and staff, and SeoulShare will be a sustainable community. To do this, SeoulShare needs a business model that can secure sufficient funds to provide reasonable compensation for their hard work. We look forward to your thoughts, idea, and involvement on how we can create a business model that is sustainable and equitable for all involved.
