I'm KIM So Yeon, CEO of SOYEON GAYAGEUM STUDIO. I am a passionate gayageum player and educator currently based in Korea. After spending some time abroad, I not only picked up English but also gained a broader perspective on the world through a variety of experiences. My journey with the gayageum began during my middle school years, and it led me to complete both my undergraduate and master’s degrees at the Korea National University of Arts, followed by a PhD at Ewha Womans University.

Now, I am lucky enough to teach at my alma mater, where I guide the next generation of musicians. But that’s not all—I also run my own business, introducing Korean traditional music and culture to international audiences in English. Whether through performances or engaging lessons, I love sharing the beauty of Korean heritage with the world.

I am planning to make regular lessons learning gayageum through SeoulShare, so people staying or traveling through Korea will get to experience the beauty of Korean music and culture!

My ultimate goal is to make Korean traditional well known as K-pop throughout the world!
